Your largest trading concern is unfounded. Bust the time myth

Is your concern re developing trading?
You can only do so if you can allocate all your time.

Truth is
when you first commence professional trading
you don't have the "trading fitness" to trade 5-8 hours a day

And if you're thinking
"But I've been trading for years; I already have that covered"
Consider this

Having worked with traders who've been at it for 4, 7, or 11 plus years
It's not the doing that you need to build up stamina for
anyone can click buttons

It's the constant problem-solving and game-play in a new discipline you're developing.

So, putting "more in" to trading is limited to your current trading-fitness level.

Advice from trading "wise old-heads" is don't initially give up your other commitments to go full-time into trading.

The transition to "more time" trading is as much about gaining skills as it is about developing unconscious learning and mental stamina.

Your structured path for professional training is:

  1. Learn the game (most traders are playing the wrong game)

  2. Learn how you prepare for the game

  3. Focus on a single playbook trade and learn to recognise when it aligns with your preparation

  4. Beyond intellectual comprehension, watch the trade demonstrated in real-life. Because it's the latter that deepens your understanding

What's next?
At this stage of your comprehension, make that trade via replay

Why?
During replay, you realise you have less understanding of it than you thought.

Questions come up

Hence the benefit of experienced guidance is providing answers, so your progress doesn't stall.

And?
As elements of your playbook trade move to unconscious learning,
You free-up mental "RAM" to consider further steps of the game you're playing.

Each time you progress to greater cognitive space, your trading-fitness also increases.

For a non-runner to take on the goal of running a marathon
In the early stages, there is only so much time one can train until you achieve certain fitness levels
In the same way, it's an unfounded concern to wait until you have "more time" before taking on professional trading development.
